Wearever BRAKE PADS

It's about time I pick up some new pads... money is tight now, so no Hawk or Performance Friction non-sense here.

My requirements are:

low cost
minimal wear on rotors
needs to last only until 2009 (very minimal driving)

I have been looking at Wearever from Advance Auto.

Is there a substantial difference between Wearever Silver and Gold pads anyone is aware of? Are the silver pads more rough on rotors? So far on this site I have read to at LEAST get the Gold (but for what reasons? performance alone?... or other reasons) If performance and lifespan is the only thing giving the Gold the advantage, I'm all for Silver since I will have money early 2009 for a full brake system upgrade (or maybe just a 2009

)

Another user switched from Silver to Gold and eliminated their squeak.

Another used Silver front and rear and was happy.

EDIT: Unless there are fitment issues or shim issues with the Silver, I'll just go with those since the backs will have to be silver regardless, and 4 new rotors are in the near future anyway. So ignore the stuff above I guess...

Any fitment/install issues with Wearever Silver pads from Advance Auto?
