Re: What brakes do I want?

i wasnt trying to bring Umi down, just making a point that heat over a period of time has been known to temper aluminum and make it brittle. but Umi does this at a lower temperature than normal powder is done, and they have done their research. they have sold several i'm sure and as far as i know have had no "fatal" flaws in their designs.

There are plenty that do race that run them and really like them. IMO, why pay that same price for Baer Eradispeeds of stock diameter when you can upgrade to larger rotors and REALLY get better braking.

Also, do you happen to have the part numbers for the rear calipers and rotors? Maybe I can go all around. Not sure if the rear rotors were the same size or a lil bigger.

I guess I need adaptors for the fronts as well and I need to cut some of the Spindle? Or is it easier just to get an LS1 Spindle? I guess I'll have to look up the part number but If you have a part number on the spindle that would be dope as well.

Shoot me any extra info that I may need to know. I've heard about it and skimmed across this info But....This is the first time looking & digging into this upgrade.

Thanks.

Mike
Changing to LS1 rear rotors and pads is a big job. (removing axle shafts...)

If you get the "Bob Bishop" C5 brackets, or adaptors as you call them, they work with LT1 and LS1 spindles, and either spindle requires part of them to be sawed off.

Give trackbird a PM and he can help you out.

www.gmpartsdirect.com the part # is one of those listed above. Gotta love the inexpensive rotors, and they are holding up great!
