Wheel Hop

Wheel Hop
I have replaced the lower control arms and put in relocation brackets. It has made a huge difference, but when I really get on it, the rear axle still jumps just a bit. The car has 104500 miles on it and I have had it since 36k miles. Im thinking that the rear shocks need replacing. Can they cause wheel hop if worn? How can you really tell if shocks have reached their life expectancy besides the car sagging? Thanks.

If you car came with the DeCarbons, you're probably over due for shocks. One way to check shocks is to verify the shock dampens body movement when you "bounce" that corner of the car. A good visual check is to have a buddy drive along side your car and watch your tire response when you drive over bumpy surfaces. The tires shouldn't bounce repeatedly.

If you have more than 1 mile on the stock shocks I would suggest trading them in lol. there really poor dampers for our cars. if you dont' have springs the HD's can be a very good shock! there the lowest price for the "best" with no springs. Then your options go up to revavles or Konis of course the rear in revalves are the same.
