10139097 Brake Hose Hardware (includes 10 ea.) COPPER WASHERS FOR BANJO FITTING

All are GM p/n

GM parts PACKAGE PRICE: $429.00, does NOT include shipping or brake pads.
(This package, plus brake pads, plus my bracket kit, supplies every part necessary for the conversion, except brake fluid)

I recommend starting with the ZO6 front pads since they work well and supply the necessary anti-rattle springs and shims. Bought with the rest of the kit, they will probably add @ $106.00 to the kit price; my best guess.

This package price DOES NOT include my brackets.
Contact Woody directly if you are interested in getting this package.

Re: Where can I find C5 brake accessories?

some more info from the attachment:

I have used the first 2 pads listed above successfully on the street and track, but if you drive a truly high-speed course, and are a serious braker, you can use up a set of the regular Durastops in a weekend. The Hawks last much longer. Neither of those sets of pads currently comes with the pad location springs (the anti-rattle springs, # 11 on the exploded diagram, and the pad abutment shims, # 2 on the diagram, see link at top of email). The 2002 and later Z06 front pads (part # 88952008) and the Durastop CERAMIC pads (part # 88909667) come with the springs/shims. One set of the springs/shims should last for life. GM does not sell them separately. NAPA does, but for @ $38.00 for two calipers worth.

By the way, I am not recommending the Ceramic Durastop pads mentioned above, for track use. I called the Delco Durastop office and asked about the ceramic pads. I was told that for the track I should continue to use a carbon-metallic based pad. The tech said that the ceramic pads hold and reflect too much heat and could warp rotors on a racetrack. Even though it may not be appropriate for high-speed track use, it is currently the least expensive pad GM sells for the C5 that includes the anti-rattle springs and pad abutment shims. And, it may be the best choice for a “show” car, since it is almost dustless and lasts forever. I’ll copy the GM description below:

C5 Corvette ACDelco Durastop Ceramic Wave II Brake Pads
Noise Suppression: 100% shimmed, 100% slotted, 100% chamfered. AC Delco Durastop provides ultra-quiet braking due to the absence of iron and steel fibers in the friction formulation.
Durability: Ceramic friction lasts longer than other non-ceramic friction.
Low Dusting: AC Delco Durastop Ceramic Friction was specially developed to reduce the ANNOYING dust that is typically found in ordinary friction formulations.
Warranty: AC Delco Durastop Ceramic Friction will provide a limited lifetime warranty.
These are available for many different GM models in addition to Corvettes!!

I have used the C5 Durastop pads (regular, not the Ceramic), and the Hawk HP+, and the Porterfield R4. The Porterfields didn’t work well at all, and cost $195.00 plus shipping. The Durastops were good for the money (@ $59.00 delivered), reasonably dust-free, and quiet. The Hawk’s were @ $109.00 delivered, and stop well with almost no fade in severe use, are normally quiet, but are very, very dusty. I do not recommend the Hawk HPS, just the HP+, and GM evidently agrees since they chose to give it a GM part # and sell it through their dealers as a step up from the ZO6 pads. Also, everyone I have spoken with who has used the ZO6 pad likes them for both street and track, and they dust less than the Hawk HP+.

Re: Where can I find C5 brake accessories?

sorry i should of posted this first.this is a list of exactly what you need and how many:

Below are tables with all of the necessary GM parts (you must open this email in HTML to view the tables). From the list below, you need the following numbers of C5 front brake parts: 1 right caliper, 1 left caliper, 1 right rotor, 1 left rotor, 2 pad abutment brackets (the bracket which holds the pads and around which the caliper floats), 4 pad abutment guide pins, 4 guide pin boots, 2 brake hoses, 2 banjo bolts for the hoses, and 4 copper washers to sandwich the banjo fittings (don’t try to reuse your old copper washers). The guide pin bolts come included with the calipers, so I am not listing that part #. You will need longer brake hoses, but can delete the OEM C5 hoses if you want to use aftermarket “braided stainless” hoses. For longevity and long-term safety, I recommend using the OEM hoses. Hose length must be the same as is used on the C5 Corvette, @ 14.75”. There is a package price for these GM parts at the end of this letter.

If you want the RED ZO6 calipers, the part #’s are: # 88895128 and # 88895129, they do not affect the price of the package.

Phil isnt a paying supporter, His info shouldnt be posted on here, you should contain it to e-mails or PM's ...

I'd hate to see him get haggled on the board for this....

Ever wonder why he didnt post about the stuff himself ????

This board is STRICT on unpaying supporters !!!

Please keep this info to PM's or E-Mails... For Phil's Sake....
