Why cant I get my brakes pads to fit??

I'm trying to put new rear pads on my 95 Z28. I have the piston pushed all the in with a c clamp but it seems like the pads are too thick and wont fit over the the rotor. I even have the bleeder screw loose and it still wont go on. I also have the E-brake disconnected.

Chances are either the piston is not all the way pushed in or the brake pads are the incorrect ones. I just did my brake pads today and they fit fine. Although, I did have to really crank on the piston with the c-clamp.

Does any of the piston still stick out? When I did the brakes on my Corolla a few days ago I had to use my C-clamp on the rim of the piston to push it all the way down.. the c-clamp didn't reach all the way when i had it in the center. That might be your problem.
