Winter suspension and Chassis Build Up, Opinions needed!

Im planning on redoing my entire suspension and many chassis components this winter and im curious to what you all think and if you have any suggestions.

heres the list,
BMR boxed sfc's,
BMR LCA,s and brackets,
BMR 35mm front sway bar, Spohn 1inch rear sway,
BMR adj PHR,
BMR tunnel brace and Strut tower brace,
BMR Trak pak
Comp engineering 8pt Rollbar with rear extensions to back of well.
Next summer im going to redo the front suspensio0n with BMR upper and lower A's, Tubular K etc,
all bushings will be poly/poly

Im still undecided on what springs and shocks though, i was looking at bilsteins and DMS springs because i would like at least a 1.5 drop but still have a good performance spring, opinions are welcomed.

Thnaks,
-john

Let me be the first to ask, what are your goals with this car? Strip only? Street-strip? Street-Road race/autoX? Let us know and we should be able to help you out a little better.

Re: Winter suspension and Chassis Build Up, Opinions needed!

Were shooting for a 450 Rear wheel 383 NA and a 200 shot on top of that. the car will probably only see the track a few times per year maybe 2 or 3 times a month but other than that will only be a weekend warrior. I baxically want a overkill street car I much happier with handling on the street compared to the track but a little overkill doesent bother me.

thanks,
-john

Re: Winter suspension and Chassis Build Up, Opinions needed!

Ok, then:

BMR boxed SFCs -- get them, not a bad choice.
BMR LCAs and brackets -- also a good idea.
BMR 35 mm/Spohn 25.4mm rear bar -- unless you have intentions of road racing or auto-Xing, you don't need this much bar, especially in the back. You can get a cheap 32mm front and leave the rear one alone and you should be fine. Just my opinion.
BMR adj. phb -- BMRs design on their Adj. PHB is pretty poor in my opinion. Look for alternatives like Spohn.
BMR tunnel brace and strut tower brace -- I believe both are purely cosmetic, can't imagine them helping much. The STB might be helpful if you think you will be pulling the wheels off the ground
BMR Trak Pak -- it has pushed people into 9s so I am assuming it works pretty well.

As for the shocks/springs, looks like the QA1s might work pretty good for you. I personally don't care for them since I don't drag race, but they might suit your needs. Maybe someone else will chime in on those. Good luck.

Re: Winter suspension and Chassis Build Up, Opinions needed!

Thank for all of the info and help. The only reason that im going through and doing so much suspension stuff is that 1 I have the money for it and 2 Im replacing all of the V6 stuff on my car cuz Im not sure if its the same suspension compponents as on a Z28 but oh well.

thanks for the help guys,
-john

If you're planning on that much power then get the driveshaft loop instead of the tunnel brace.
