8 Second Street Car

So I've had this car for 35 years and it has progressively gotten quicker over the years. This current version was fired up in June 2018 and has only been to the track 3 times. It was built to run 8.50's but the lack of track time has been a problem. I took it once in 2018 and twice now in 2023. It's finally ready to run 8's. The chassis was certified earlier this year and I just made my 6 license passes. My main focus for the day was to get all 6 passes in before it started to rain. Leaving at 80% throttle the car would go into tire shake so I would back the throttle down to 50ish percent for the first half and go full throttle for the last half. Even doing that the car ran 9.49 by coasting from the 1/8 to the 1/4. Also it ran 5.86 in the 1/8 at 118 shutting down early. The previous pass was a 5.92 at 123. With a little more air in the tires I'll get rid of the tire shake and be able to go full throttle at the beginning of the run.

Again my main focus for the day was to get my 6 passes in before it started to rain, not going after a personal best. With my license I'll go after a personal best next time. It started to rain right after my 3rd pass and they stopped racing for a bit. Right after my 6th pass it started raining and was pouring as we left the track.
