A friend of mine came over tonight and mentioned that he had never ridden in my car, so I took him for a ride in an area I knew a lot of people with fast cars hang out... He loves all cars, but unfortunately favors Japanese cars (his favorite is the WRX STI)...

We ended up behind an SRT-4.. When we caught a light he revved it up, so I revved back just as the light changed.. It made me launch a little higher than I wanted, but still only about 3000 RPMs.. My tires are only 245's though, I had narrower tires on for the winter.. So I spun a bit, but he didn't get a good launch at all because he never even came close.. I chriped second hard and by 65 mph I had about 2 cars on him, then he had to slow down cause a car was in his lane coming up.. So then there was an RSX behind me who wanted some action too.. He came flyin up on me as I was slowin back down towards the speed limit, going around 50 and he was probably going 65-70.. I downshifted to second and took off when he was coming hard about a car behind me and I walked him too... Then those two caught a light and I kept going and my friend couldn't stop raving about how great Camaros were.. At the end of the night, he said "I think I love American cars more now, American muscle has won me over.."

 

Well we'll see if anything has changed with him.
I've beaten lots of rice at the lights w/ my v6 and v8 camaro, but I don't think any of them really got the point, though. I guess they keep thinking that if they get one more mod they'll smoke me. Like a new exhaust is gonna change buslengths, buddy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that some people will never learn how to do some things in life the right way. There's 9 second Camaros and Hondas, and then there are those that would rather put on an oversized exhaust, a wing and some stickers and act like they're the king of the street. Oh well, more wins for me I guess...

Hope he makes the right choice and at least gets a pony car, though. If no one buys them they'll all go down the drain. Then there won't be Camaros or Mustangs, etc.

 

Makes me feel a little more comfortable about my upcoming race with an SRT-4.
