Cool Grannie's Altima Goes 13.3s!!!!!

Went back to the track yesterday (race day) and ran the Alty again. Conditions- 90*+ all day, probably 30-40% hum., and the track prep was outstanding! All runs were made on stock 215/40-17 radials @ 26psi. I swapped in the 80 jet also...

First run I made on motor because I got in the staging lanes and found that the ground wire for the solenoid had come loose. Didn't have time to fix it then. I lost the slip for the first run but I remeber most of it...

60ft- 2.08

1/8- 9.10 @ 77.??

1/4- 14.35 @ 95.??

Second run was on spray but I hit the rev limiter in 3rd. I rolled out about 20ft before going to the juice.

60ft- 2.01

1/8- 8.59 @ 82.58

1/4- 13.51 @ 101.26

Third run was first round of eleminations. I dialed in a 13.3 going by my 1/8 ET from the 13.5 pass. The guy I was running got about 10 cars out and never let out. I tried spraying right out of the gate and it wasn't pretty...

Dial In- 13.3.....................................14.57

RT- .055......................................... .110

60ft- 2.31..........................................2.15

1/8- 9.44 @ 80.78............................9.26 @ 78.03

1/4- 14.32 @ 102.37.......................14.33
Winner-------------------------------Breakout

Fourth run I finally got everything to work and WOW!! Same technique as before, rolled out about 20ft and went to the juice. Check out the 60ft ...

Dial In- 13.3.......................................15.50

RT .160....................................... .180

60ft 1.99.........................................2.27

1/8 8.59 @ 81.97..........................9.99 @ 70.60

1/4 13.36 @ 103.81......................15.60 @ 86.72
.068 Finish Margin
.060----------Off Dial----------.109
Winner

Fifth run I did everything the same as the 4th. Not only did I back up the 13.36 pass, but I got my best pass of the day!!

Dial In- 13.3........................................11.77

RT- .146.......................................-.007

60ft- 2.01........................................1.84

1/8- 8.55 @ 81.85...........................7.69 @ 92.52

1/4- 13.33 @ 103.40......................11.96 @ 114.01
Winner------------------------------------Red Light

Sixth and last run of the day. Final round of eliminations and I had to chase this guy. I again backed up my 13.3 pass but with my only halfway descent RTs throughout the day, and how consistent my opponents car had been all day, it wasn't looking good...

Dial In- 13.3......................................16.34

RT- .238............................................04 7

60ft- .200............................................2. 39

1/8- 8.58 @ 81.52...........................10.50 @ 67.01

1/4- 13.38 @ 102.27.....................16.34 @ 82.37
Finish Margin- .009
.089------------Off Dial-----------.009
Winner

All in all a good day though! I came home with a second place trophy and ran a number I am pleased with. I ended up getting a hold of the guy with the DR's last night at home. He said he's going to put some air in them and make sure they don't have any holes or flat spots (they've been sitting is his garage for several months), and if they look ok I can have them this coming weekend to borrow!

If I can get the car to hook off the line on spray I think 13.0-.teens are not out of the question. If all that happens I may just have to put a 100 shot on and try for the 12s

NOTE: The trannies/axles/drivelines in these cars are brutally strong. There are guys running 150 shots through them and hitting low12s...

That's just amazing! There are a lot of "performance cars" that struggle to reach that mark. Makes me want to consider a bottle for my Grand Marquis

It'd always be empty though, so I'll keep saving for a blower.

Thanks fellas! Yea John right now it's enough to keep up with a lot of bolt'd LT1s and although it doesn't trap as high, I think it would prolly give a fair amount of LS1s a run for their money. With DR's it would just make things that much more interesting...
