3.4 temp sensor for gauge
Anyone know which temp sensor sends information to the dash gauge? Just swapped a used 3.4 into my 95 bird and while the fan comes on properly when the coolant gets hot I'm not getting a temp reading in the car.
There is one sensor in the driver side head and another on the intake manifold by the thermostat. Anyone know which one I need to replace so my gauge works again?
Thanks

For future reference in case anyone is ever wondering the coolant temp sensor located in the front of the drivers side head is wired to the gauge. If your gauge is is not registering temps you may have to replace this sensor.
The other coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold by the thermostat gives the signal to the PCM to turn on and off the fan.

Sorry dude, If I woulda seen your thread earlier, I would have replied. I have several posts that refer to the temp senders, aftermarket senders for add on gauges, fans, radiators, etc for the 3.4. I have mine wired to come on with the factory wire ( mostly for the a/c signal) and an aftermarket fan controller to make it come on sooner. Also running dual LS1 fan assembly. My car sits between 185-200 degrees on hot days with the a/c on. Also running a failsafe 180 thermostat. It would run 210-225 with everything stock, and the fan was wired to come on with the key by the previous owner. If your having cooling issues, buzz me and I can probably walk you through coolin it down, if you were just freakin out cause the gauge wasnt workin then sorry for the long post. lol.
