Arrow 3.4L + 272cam +22lb.hr. + 2.8 intake

That is my engine it just needs to be droped in the car thats all.
The engine is a new rebuilt 95' 3.4L stock.
The cam is a crane power max H-272-2
dur @ .05 lift
in 216* .454''
out 228* .480''
Lobe seperation is a nice 112*
I have been thinking about putting 1.6 rockers also.
The injectors are 22 pound per hour 3.8L injectors.
With a 2.8L intake.
Is it just me or does all that engine and cam make that 50mm TB look kind of small?
Do you think the 3.8L injectors are to big?
Any one know what kinda power I could expect to get at the crank with my set up?

is there any work done to those heads? If not that motor will just choke on that cam. I'd also get the heads milled to rase the compression some,or that cam may have a hard time idleing

If you can get ahold of some headers I would, the stock exhaust manifolds are crap, and porting them wont help much

and that tb is alil small,I'd try and find a 55 or 58mm tb in a junkyard and try to fit its plate into the 3.4's tb
and those injectors are a lil big,I'm only useing 19#

That 2.8 manifold flows worse than the 3.4 one, unless its been modifyed like in the picture mustangeater posted

also, what tranny and gears are going behind this motor?

The gears and stuff are in the sig.
There 3.42's and a standard trans.
I want to put 3.73's in there, but I'll wait and see how it goes.
I have stock heads, an intake manifold, plentum and a (brand new beetle) turbo hear with me in japan and 3years (well 33 months 2 weeks + some days but who's counting) to put it together.
The engine is stock all but for the cam and it is probley bored some because it is rebuilt.
Wolfie, what kind of cam do you run?
I have been looking for a nice TB at my junk yard(ebay).
I have been told that the 2.8 and 3.1 manifold flow better than the 3.4 intake.

um if it actually starts it'll be decent. thats the question on my mind, have you actually tried starting this thing yet? cause crane lists the 272 under "emissions controlled cars WITHOUT computer"...would suggest that the cam DOES NOT have the requirements for the SFI cam sensor...i'm willing to bet it doesnt and your car wont start when you try to fire it. id pull the cam sensor (right at the front of the block, the two wires coming out near the intake) and look and make sure there is a "tab" in there that comes around every so often..if there isnt yur screwed.

im just asking cause of that designation..if this is all good, then AWESOME and you should make some nice numbers..

If that cam dosen't have that little cam button on it, it will make no difference because the hole setup is going to be run by a 2.8 computer system and in 1985 when that car was made no one was even thinking about puting a cam position sencor on that engine.
This is not an SFI controled engine. There is no SFI cam sencor.
I told my mechanic that he would have to look out for some extra holes and to plug them up. There will (or there should be) be a plug in place of that cam sencor.
The cam he pulled has a tab on it. I'll sell it on ebay along with the old injectors after it gets mailed over here to me.
I told him to look out for that tab on the new cam if it has one, to grind it off if and only if it gets in the way of the sencor plug.
The engine isn't in the car yet, He has to tow the car from his back yard area into his shop with at tractor (it has NO engine in it)and if the tractor tires or car tires break through the grass there is severl inches if mud just under the grass. He dosen't want to cut ruts into his yard or get stuck and I'm in no real hury to get it put together.
The car is in Maine and it is mud season and I am in Japan.
That 272 cam was the bigest crane cam that they listed for use with hyd. lifters.
If saw a bigger cam made by any one else I would have goten it.
I think I will grab some 1.6 rockers now.
