1997 models have different Intake designs, which are angled, starting in 98, they went to a straight intake design. 1999 is when they changed things around a lot more, such as drive by wire Throttle Bodies and 2000 is when they started using tubular Manifolds instead of the square cast iron. -Tim

Re: 3800performance.com question

The kit would probably require you to take that stuff off anyway . My 1997 has a slp cold air intake so i would just need to take that off. It could be made to work couldnt it? Its not that much of a difference. Right?

Re: 3800performance.com question

you could get it to work... but how much do you want to spend?
thats the thing, you could get your riding lawn mower to do a 9second run in the 1/4 mile if you have the money to build the motor.

Wrong, 1997 and 1998 both have the same intake and throttle body setups, in 1999 they went to straight throttle bodys, and in 2000 they went to tubular exhaust manifolds like you alreaday stated..

There's other turbo kits out there, in fact there's a used one for sale on camarov6.com right now, an FFF kit, go check it out.

Erm, actually I'm pretty sure that 97 was the last year for that style of intake. 98+ had the airbox on top, 97s are dipped down in the wheel well almost.
