Angry 95 3.4 missing lik dropping a cylinder

Need some help PLEASE! Just purchased for next to nothing a 95 Camaro with the 3.4L engine,,car sat for a long time before person i got it from bought it, this car had been worked on then abandoned, and had gas tank dropped with new pump in the tank,,I replaced some damaged fuel lines and battery, car started ran real rough,, was overheating (common problem I gather)fixed that, changed fluids, could still smell laquered gas some, changed plugs and wires, dragging starter, and a new coolant temp sensor, car still runs rough,,checked compression, all but number one were around 140psi and it was 110? car smoked early on seemed like fuel smoke,,car has since stopped smoking but runs like it is dropping a cylinder or 2,,,vaccum seems in tact, engine revs better when large vaccum is removed from intake,,strange? Any Suggestions? Daughters 16th b day car and need to fix soon!

Re: 95 3.4 missing lik dropping a cylinder

Use a old school test light grounded to the negative side of the battery and while the car is running with the iac unplugged backprobe the spark plug wires one at a time till u find the cylinder that does not make a difference. slide the test light(with dielectric grease on the tip) betwwen the plug boot and the wire at the coil till it misses. That will tell u if that cylinder is contributing. then post and some one will get u to the next step
