i got a brand new battery few weeks ago, new alternator, was running great one mornign went to start car and nothing. happened, no clickin sound nothing........i figured i needed a jump but nope still didnt start, im figureing the starter...... how can i test it. i read somewhere it might be the key any idea's..........oh yea its a 95 3.4 auto dont know if that helps

 

Same thing happened on my friends van. The battery was fairley new, and jumping it didn't work. It turned out that the thing you put your key into was busted(i forget the name of it). So most likely its the key thing, or you starter.

i dont know much about 4th gens, but i have alot of experience with my cars not starting

things i had probs starting from

starter
starter soloniod
coil
fuel pump
battery (fuel pump soloniod was draining batt)

you could also check vss?

 

i had the exact same problem. Car wouldn't even turn over when i turned the key. I looked at my key and the chip seemed to be loose. I went and got my new spare key and it worked the first time no problem. I haven't had the problem since.

 

do ur dash lights come on when u turn ur key on??? And when u turn the key over to start it do they go ouff?
