Cat on exhaust smoking! HELP

Cat on exhaust smoking! HELP

ok, i had a bad tranny leak that slung oil all over cat, and it smoked alot cause it was covereds in oil, anyways i fixed the tranny but now when my car gets warmed up the cat still smokes from the old oil, is this messing up the cat? anything i can spray on it to get the old oil off and not smoke? what can i do? thanks guys

oh yeah, shop rebuilt my tranny for an arm and a leg, get home, and it still drops like 1 drop of oil a day, WHICH I HATE i dont want ANY leaks, im taken it back for those @$$holes to fix,

anyways back on task, what to do about the smoking cat?

I am having the SAME cat smoking problem, and I just discovered it today!

Mine is from an engine oil leak, though. The pass side valve cover seems to be the source, and it even smokes in the engine compartment.

Is your smoke white? That's what my color is. My best guess is to just physically wipe off the cat with a rag.

The smoking cat doesn't cause any problems for me....its just embarassing...

that could be a head gasket leak maybe? i dunno, but nah mines sorta blueish, well could be white, i dunno, but i see it coming straight off the cat and no where else
