How much power?

I know what you're thinking, you're going to tell me to get a life and get a V8, right.. Well, I don't have a V8, so here is my question. I have a custom K&N air intake and Flowmaster 80 series right now. These 2 mods alone have given the car a great "boost", especially the intake(did muffler 1st). If I get pacesetter headers, catco cat, y-pipe, PCM reprogram, and maybe a 2 1/2 I-pipe, how much net(noRwhp) HP will I have?

I'd say probably around 230-240.

Wow, that's more than I had hoped for. Any other comments? I found a 93 bird on the net with these exact same mods and he was running 14.84 @ 98 MPH.

You'll be seeing a lot more HP when you do both intake and full exhaust.
A lot of people don't see much power gains b/c they only do intake or a cat-back exhaust.
I'm not sure if you'll get 240rwhp out of it, but I don't know

240 with just bolts ons? maybe a 3.8 but we are stock with 160hp at the flywheel.

A 80 hp boost? That might be what its advertised hp that each of those mods gives out but thats quite a huge jump for a 3.4. I would say those would give you around half that but thats hard to say

What 3.4 did you see running a 14.84 by the way????

Oh crap, I thought he had a 3.8! Nevermind then. My new estimates are maximums of 195 hp and 155 rwhp.

I don't know if I'd believe that time. A full intake and exhaust setup on a 3.4L wouldn't yield a 14.84 quarter-mile. Hell, most 3.8L's won't hit 14.8 with intake/exhaust. With pulleys, tc, and maybe a few other things it's a possibility, but with just that stuff, and the pcm, I doubt you'll break 15.

and brad, on this message board, NOBODY cares about hp unless it is RWHP. thats just the way it is. even the V8s are that way. its cause it is hard to say what hp you have, but its easy to dyno and find your RWHP anyday.

ok, reality check

with those bolt ons, you might get back to about what gm advertizes stock. 160-170 fwhp

the engine is weaker then they advertized.

no way in hell to get to 240 rwhp, not even 3.8s are going up there NA with heads and cam.
