Intake manifold

i have a 2000 Camaro 3800 mounted in my 1977 MGB, and was looking at where the thorttle body is mounted. it looks like i'm going to have some problems with a radiator gettting put in there. are there any intake manifolds taht will alow me to switch where the throttle body/air intake is located on the engine? i was looking at my 1989 Oldsmobile, which also has the 3800, and the intake comes from the other side. same thing with my 2003 MonteCarlo SS, which has the 3800 also. any help would be appreciated.

Re: Intake manifold

The supercharger will also move the airintake to the rear. But you could still run into a pulley/radiator problem.

You should be ok with any of them, but I CAN'T say for sure. Some where in the 3.8's history they changed designs on the top end.

i'm wondering if all the SeriesII are the same, and all the older ones are the same. looking at the throttle body on my Monte Carlo, and the camaro engine i have, and the Oldsmobile i have, the Monte and Camaro look real similar, just on differnt sides, the olds one looks quite a bit different. going to wait till someone can let me know for sure before i try to find a manifold.

thanks for the help guys.

Re: Intake manifold

Have you looked at the upper intake manifold from a 95-98 3800 F-body? It is different from the 2000.

Re: Intake manifold

Here are some iffy pics of my friend's '98 camaro....they will give you an idea of the manifold difference (it points down and towards the driver's side.

Re: Intake manifold

i deffinitly think i'm going to have to try to find an intake manifold off of like a frontwheel drive car with the 3800. it would work for my application a lot better i think.
