This kid is out of his mind right?
This guy at my school has a 2001 Black Monte Carlo SS. I have a 1998 Camaro with Borla Cat-Back and a K&N filter. This kid claims he will destroy me and his car is BONE STOCK. Am I mistaken? I thought the Monte Carlo SS only had like 170hp?

Just for the record. This kid says the new 2004 Monte Carlo's that are going to be "supercharged" (If you want to call a 40 HP GTP turbine a "supercharger") will be able to run with "A Wanna be SS with an LS1". Basically this kid thinks the F-body SS is $*&@ and the Monte Carlo Super Sport is the best SS. I told him mY buddy with a 2002 CAMARO SS (A real sports car) will give him 3 lengths and destroy him. He laughed and said he wouldn't waste his time with an easy race for him to win. I mean what planet is this kid from? I mean this Monte is BONE STOCK. I looked under the hood. No NOS ports or anything like that. I don't see how I wouldn't put this kid in his place with my camaro. Let alone an SS?

The monte SS has the same 3.8 you have i believe, and the same 200 hp you have stock, but you have some bolt ons , so i wouldnt worry about it. The only worry would be if you loose traction, depending on the lenght of the race, you may smoke the tires while he gets ahead. He'll think he won before you can show him the ropes. Thats how these guys usally are. So maintain traction and you should beat, not slaughter him.

He has 200hp, you have 200 hp stock also...same motor..but you have exhaust +k&n which is probably giving you 12 hp.
His car weights 3395 lb automatic
about 3300 manual
Yours 3400 lb auto
3331 lb manual
So it should be a really close race. I will give the edge to you though.

You will beat him. Stock for stock according to track trimes, your car should beat his by .1 on the 0-60 and continue to take him from there. Most kids like this will mysteriously not have the time to race, even when you plan it out. If he honestly believes his Monte Carlo will beat a LS1 car, he shouldn't be driving. My brother believes when the RPMs are in the red you are getting even more power then when its right below the red area, anyways, he has my old Camaro, a 98 with lid, FRA, and dyno,ax muffler. He was able to beat a Malibu that had a 3.8l and he only went up to 45mph. 45mph!!!

Tell him to take it to the track and find out how much of a 15 second car he really has. I'd probably give him a good run in my Grand Am GT with a 3400. There is no way a new stock Monte SS would run with a LT1 Camaro SS.

Well everyone I raced the idiot who thinks his bone stock monte carlo SS can take an LS1. Keep in mind I have the 3800 V6 under my hood. But it's still an F-body 
So we pull up to the parking lot. THis kid starts laughing. He's telling everyone how Camaro's are crap. SO naturally my blood is boiling. I get out and start yelling at him to line up with me. I even say I'll give him a length. HE says he doesnt want to waste his time. I said I don't wanna waste my time either but I'm going to let you have the privelage to line up with an F-body....A REAL sports car. So off we went. We pull up next to each other and catch a light. He said he didnt want a length. Lighty turns green and of course I take him right away. I layed maybe 10 feet of rubber before I caught traction. His car sounded like a civic or something. Up until 60 I had him by 3/4 of a length. Then things got good. From 60-85 I pulled ahead maybe a length and 1/2. Now I have him by at least 2 lengths. We hit 110. Scratch that. I hit 110, and decide he's tkane a bad enough beating. HE SLAMS on his brakes. Now common sense tells us that if we are going over 100mph and we slam on our brakes. Yeah thats just not good. Turns out rice boy warpped all 4 of his rotors . We pulll up in the parking lot and like 25 people are laughing at this kid. I was like, "Bro you just got
