Re: LT1 vs. LS1

i believe
LT1 275 (93-95) or 285 (96-97) HP
LT1 325 TQ

LT1 sounds better and feels more ballsy but really isnt...
the ls1 is realitivly quiet and doesnt sound as muscly

LS1 325 HP
LS1 350 ??? TQ

LT1 = 1955 updated technology, opti spark problems, water pump problems, insufficient head flowing problems, cast iron block
LS1 = 1997 high technology, amazing flowing stock heads, individual coil packs, all aluminum motor, 6 bolt mains, stock motor will basically handle whatever you throw at it as long as you replace the valve springs and oil pump

Sounds like your a little partial to the LS1.

I prefer the lt1/4 over the GenIII engines, BUT, that's only an opinion. I prefer the low end torque that the lt1 has, opposed to the highway pull the ls1 has. I have worked on ALOT of LT1's and have no problem fixing what ever goes wrong with them. They are cheaper, and ALOT easier to make BIG power with.

Also.....this type of question has been beat to death, do a search for it, and youll have all the answers you'll ever need.

LS1 > LT1

LS1 = better top-end power

LT1 = better low-end power
