Major Power Adders

Feel free to discuss supercharging, turbocharging, nitrous, heads/cam selection, etc...

The Search Function can also be of use to answer questions. However, for anything else, feel free to post your questions, concerns, etc...

As an aside:

The GTP's Eaton supercharger can only be fit on your car with MAJOR work and effort not linear to results. Eaton cannot and will not support you in using this method to supercharging your car. There is MAJOR custom work involved, and will cost you a LOT of money and time. Questions such as "Will This Supercharger Work" involving the M90 GTP blower will be summarily deleted UNLESS you have a definitive plan for MAKING it work. Thanks!
That being said...have fun!

LOL

Yeah I can imagine it does.

Now all I really need to know is this:

Are the internals in the L32 versus the L36 different? In other words, can the 3.4L hold up to boost longer than a 3800? I'm just curious if there's any difference in the materials the motors are made of internally...

See where I'm going with this?!

I believe both have cast iron cranks and forged rods. However the pistons in the l32 are cast aluminum(crap) while the L36 are hyperateurics (sp?). The L36 should tehrefore hold more boost then the L32. The CR of the L32 is 9.0 while the L36 is 9.4 that small difference kinda makes the L32 better for boost in that department but the 3.8 is so much stronger and the heaads are so much better I believe it could go a long way. The 3.4 also has plenty of potential as I am proving

DOHC

Is the L36 the DOHC 3.4L that came out on some FWD cars starting back in 90' for a few years?

The L36 is the 3.8l engine. The L32 might be the engine you are thinking of.

Think about it...it all has to go thru the cylinder heads. Good ports produce measurable results, maximize all the other mods.

i have a 98 3.8L A4, with 68k miles, about how long would it last under the 6psi of a powerdyne supercharger? if the engine were built for the supercharger, pistons, rods, etc. what reliability issues would arise? what problems would arise without building the engine?

didn't someone post a site a while ago where they were porting 3800 sII heads for like a 50hp boost or something? as i remember it was cheaper than adding a turbo or SC too. just as long as you're ok with opening up the engine. might be a problem for a daily driver.

EDIT: I was thinking of this => http://www.supersixmotorsports.com/

anybody get this installed on their car?

If the 2 VW K03 turbos are not enough for my 3.4L I was going to add nitrous oxide with a (one) NOS fogger nozzle for a little 12-36 hp shot.
does any one know about boosting and sparying one of these engines?
