Typically you'll hear an inhaling whisper from a Ram-Air system. The gurgle you're talking about is more seen in turbocharged cars, not Cold Air Inductions.
But yes you might here a difference. I am assuming you'll be removing the air silencers too, so you may here a slight hiss or whistle. But I have yet to hear that on a late model V6 F-body. It must either seal up really well, or there is too much going on between the driver and the throttle body to hear it??? Maybe on an LS1?
My older 350 with a direct ram air system, sounds like a jet engine when it gulps in air. But its a simple efficient system that is moving massive amounts of air.
