rear-end squeeling...any ideas? i think brakes
been a while since last posted here since picking up a z28... anyway keeping the 6 as my winter car seeing how i just cant part with her... okay heres my issue... Cars a 94 3.4 auto with the standard drums in the back.
Yesterday i drove the 340 or so miles from CT to rochester new york and upon pulling into my apartment i turned the stereo off and heard a squeeling... seeing how its freezing up here and dont have tools here i havent been able to jack her up and look, but sounds like its coming from rear. The squeeling only starts when im coming to a start or just starting to drive.. at first i thought it was my drums since i havent redone since getting car and figured brakes took abuse on way up.. but that wouldnt explain why it makes the noise just starting to drive.
only other thing i can think of and not sure why is day before my trip i swapped rims and tires to my 97's stock rims cause they had snow tires on them... My dad did it while i was at work and when i later asked him about it said the rim wouldnt bolt up tight to the drum studs on the back so he had to lightly sand the back of the rim (where it meets) and i saw the dust from it and he barely removed anything..? anyway this could be making the noise... or any other ideas what is squeeling...
im bringing car into shop this week just to have checked but its embarresing around campus and wondering if any of u had any ideas...
