RKSport rear section exhaust installlation question

V6 Dual Rear Exhaust w/Oval Tips- Chrome

2 questions...

1) Is that a Dynomax muffler?

2) How difficult is this to install on my 94 3.4? Could I do it in my driveway? Is there welding required?

Thanks,
Matt

I think you can do it yourself bearing that you can get the old clamp off with out wrecking the I pipe, I would WD40 it 1/2 hour before trying, it is what got my clamps off.

You can just buy a Dynomax exhaust yourself along with some tips for less $$$.

RKSport = Ripoff

Yes...I have this exact kit. So hopefully I can shed some light.

First, yes it is a dynomax muffler and it can be installed...but only if you are able to get the bolts off. I couldn't get mine off...so i ended up just having the body shop put it on.

Now onto RKsport. Honestly, shortly after having the exhaust on I have/got some sort of rattle which i had my mechanic (my g/f's father) look at and he said it was coming from inside the muffler. I HAD A VERY POOR EXPERIENCE WITH RKSPORT OVER THIS! Honestly, I called several times, wrote them several emails...and they had terrible customer service in my opinion. I went onto their message board and wrote a very long explanation of my bad experience with them...and they just deleted it. This was the ONLY solution they had for me:

I live in NJ, they are in CA. They wanted me to send my exhaust kit back to them. But since I only had the new exhaust this is what they wanted. They wanted ME to buy a new kit...for a discounted slightly cheaper price. AND PAY SHIPPING! Then ship my old kit back to them...AND PAY SHIPPING! And when they looked at my kit, then they would determine if they would be able to refund my money on the second kit...if not then I would simply be stuck with 2 kits and paying all of that shipping.

The fact of the matter was, look in Jeg's...it's a what $40-45 dollar muffler? I like it and think it sounds pretty good. But my experience with RKsport was just ridiculous this past summer. My shipping charges themselves would have farly exceeded the cost of the muffler. Plus, they wouldn't just help me and fix the muffler...but try to make me stuck with an entire kit.

Based on my experience-Rk sport is not just overpriced, but they failed to solve the problem. They had poor customer service for me...atleast when a problem had arisen.

You have several options, but the exhaust is probably going to cost you about 300-350 when finished. I'd say just pick out the muffler of your choice and take it to an exhaust shop like Midas and get it all set up for you. Shop around...there are better choices than RK sport.

And I'm still here with my partially rattling muffler. But I'm going to wait for summer to fix that myself.
