No, it is something that is exclusive to turbochargers. Not a big deal though, superchargers have their own distinctive sound, a nice whining noise.

you can put them on but its not needed and wont sound the same as it does on a turbo, i had a jetta with a s/c and the kit i got came with a BOV so just for kicks i left it on and it was really quiet but still worked.
what a bov does is let the boost out of the tubes and intake when you get off the gas so that when you get back on it wont over boost or lean out the engine. the s/c runs off the engine so when you get off the gas it slows down with the engine.

Did your Jetta have an aftermarket supercharger, or was it the 1.8 or 2.0 turbo motor? Also, where do you mount the BOV on a supercharged engine? I know the Eaton blower on my Grand Prix has a boost relief valve that basically opens at low loads to bleed off boost and preserve fuel economy. Is this where you would mount an aftermarket BOV? Just curious, this is starting to interest me now.

its kinda the same thing.
it was a aftermarket s/c on my 2.0 gt
what i did is drill a hole in the intake tube going from the s/c to the intake mani and the have pipe comming off of that with a dead end cap and the bov on that pipe. but the s/c only hit 6psi and you dont even need a bov so there really wasnt much noise at all and when i took it off i took .5 off my 1/4 mile time (it might just have been cuz it was night time)
