You can use it no problem. Should be a perfect fit.

Should Fit?

Should Fit? Has any one actually done it. I hate to spend 300 bucks and order on and it not fit.

300 bucks?!? That is a bit much. Have you searched on the for sale section here? I got mine for 35 around me locally. I have one on my car and it went on seamlessly. Mine is a 2000 and it came off a 1999 Z28 and it fit everything well. But go ahead and do a search.

Definatly do a search in V6, this topic has come up a few times. If you want search for my posts in V6 i have given the run down on V8 rear sections on V8 cars many times.

As for the cat back off a LT1 car, The only minor trouble you will face is that you will need a shop to make the connection to the cat unless you a welder or know someone who is. Honestly, you dont need that wide of a intermediate pipe on a 6 cyl. It may actually cost you power. I recomend just the rear section you can get them from slp for 119.99 shipped or the cat back as you mentioned for 99.99 plus shipping from www.hawksthirdgenparts.com . If you look around you can them even cheaper, but watch out for ebay cause many times the morrons sho ship them cut them all up making the install a pain in the ***.

Yeah, it'll work. I put a 2000 Trans Am exhaust on my 94 camaro. Here's a picture of it.

Its not that I want the larger I pipe, its that I like the sound of the Hooker cat-back and they only make them for the V 8's.

I thought you were talking about a take-off t/a exhaust. In that case $300 for a catback would be reasonable, unless-maybe-it is used.

don't except your car to sound like an LT1 just because your putting on an LT1 exhaust. I never thought it was a good idea to put an exhaust designed for a v8 on a v6 car, I think you would b better off getting an exhaust designed for your engine, i think pace setter has a decent one, do a seach for it.

Obviously it will not sound like a V8, but every muffler is shaped and sized different and gives the exhaust note a different sound. I have heard a hooker cat-back on both and I thought it sounded rather good. All though now I am considering having one made and using spin tech mufflers, they are supposedly one of the best. According to Doug's headers, former owner of Thorrley headers.

Well if you like the hooker sound, pick up a hooker aerochamber muffler from jeggs or summit, they run about 70 bucks and just have a shop weld it in there with or with out an additonal tail pipe. This will wind up costing you less in the end, and will sound a little better, while still maintaining a decent amount of back pressure for your engine.
