window problem

ok this window problem sound like the gears are out of alignment. rolls down fine but when you roll the window up it stops moving and you can hear a poping noise from behind the door panel. i just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem before and how did you fix it. another problem i getting is a stuttering when I am at WOT. i just changed the plugs, wires, had the coil packs checked, and am currently cleaning fuel injectors. could this possibly be caused by a clogged cat? thanks for any help

on your window problem, sounds like the motor is going out. does it go up all the way or does it go up, stop, wait a little bit, then goes up again? if it does then the motor is going out. also with the popping i would change it out. on your other question i have no idea sorry

I think your going to have to replace your window motor soon. I had problems witht he power windows on both Camaros, in fact 4 out of 5 of my families cars (all GM) have had at least one power window problem the only one that hasn't had problems is my moms car and she never rolls down her windows. Anyways the motors poop out a lot. Usually when the motor is about to die the window goes up slower then it goes down because it takes more power to make it go up. It gets worse and worse until one day you go to roll up your window and it won't go up. You can make your window go up faster by pulling up on it and pressing the power window control up at the same time, it causes less of a load on the motor. Sooner or later that thing is going to give out, might as well get it fixed now. Sorry I have no clue what the problem is with the stuttering at WOT, have the dealer look at it when you get the window fixed.

I had the same exact problem with my driver side window when I was test driving it to purchase and it turned out to only be the window switch. I ended up buying the car and took it to the shop run by the dealership and about 5 minutes and a new switch later, my window problems were solved. I thought I needed a new motor as well, and hope that you are just as lucky!!

Since everyone has pretty much taken care of the window problem....I'll give your stuttering problem a shot. Have your fuel pressure regulator checked out. If it's at WOT, it may be bypassing internally not giving the correct fuel pressure to your injectors causing a "pulsing" fuel pressure. Also, if you changed your wires yourself, make sure the boots are secure on the plugs. If you have a loose boot on a plug, that could cause a stutter. Chances are it's a fuel pressure problem though. Check your fuel filter while you're at it too.

thanks on the stuttering reply. i think i have it figured out, i noticed that when it did stutter, the gas mileage would suffer(compared to normal, obvious) so it had to be something in the fuel system. i added 2 cans of total fuel system cleaner in the gas, and this has helped greatly. but there still is a very slight stumble. so i relly need to change my fuel filter, check the pressure regulator, and clean the injectors.

When you're putting that injector cleaner in your gas, be sure you read the bottle very carefully. Some of them have a very harsh detergent in them and shouldn't be used any more than every 10K miles. That stuff can actually hurt your engine if you use it too much. Just be careful
