20% window tint on sides--in DFW
I want to get the side windows tinted on my SS, but with the 20 percent tint. I know that 35 is as dark as you can legally go in Texas but i think that is too light. I was wondering if anybody knows any people or places in the DFW area where I can get this done at? Let me know
thanks

how do u say 20% isnt dark enough...? 20% is great for front windows, but ur insane putting 5% on it too, cops are dicks now days about tint. I worked for a tint place in the summer and know what goes down, the best type of tint u want is called "silver" or "desert charcoal" I believe..its been a while, but thats th ebest quality, it looks good, especially lower the % and its not a mirror type sliver tint, I have it on my truck it looks good. If you add black limo to the back of it in the hatchback, omg its impossible to see in, but hard to see out.

AW/Z28 - E-mail me and I'll give you the number to the guy I use. He does it out of his garage - he warranties his work and has been doing tint etc since the 80's Hes also VERY affordable.

I have had 5% on my side windows, front window bar which is too low also, and my rear windows. I have never been stopped for my windows being too dark in Texas. I have only even been tested for it being to dark once in Oklahoma. He was a **** about it but let me off for speeding and the wondow tint being way too dark on the side windows and too low on the windsheild.
Although over all I would say get as dark as you want you shouldn't have many problems. If you do get a ticket for it just take a picture of a friends car with no tint on it and take it to cort with ya and have it dimissed since you "fixed" your car.

I work at a repair shop that does State Inspections. The legal percentage is 20% on the driver and passenger windows. It is possible to go darker legally, only if you have a medical condition that states you are light sensitive, and carry a letter from from your doctor and is keep in the vechicle at all times.
The only other thing is that the tint can not be reflective; ie mirror finish. Every inspection station has a light meter that is placed on the window,to check for sure. The back windows can be has dark as you want it.
If you have any more grey area questions just shoot an email, the Inspector is a good friend of mine.
