A local car enthusiast got shot last night while trying to protect someone else’s property.

Some of you may know Gus he has been around the scene longer then most of us. I hope your prayers and thoughts are with him.

Gus is a true dedicated car enthusiast .

He is in stable condition at a local hospital.

"A good samaritan is shot confronting a car burglar. Police say an employee of a car stereo and installation store on the north side saw someone breaking into a car. When he walked out of a boy to stop him, the would-be burglar raised a run and shot him at least twice. Other workers in the store told police the suspect ran back to woods nearby.

"There terrified. Some of them were in tears, I'm sure it was a bad day for all of them," said Sgt. Dan Zamora, San Antonio Police Dept. But they can take comfort Thursday night because police believe they have the suspect in custody. The man who was shot is in guarded condition at University Hospital.

Damn I heard about it on the news last night and the first person I thought about was Gus. Damn that's sad! I hope he recovers soon, he's a good guy and was always helpful.
