Cool Help break in the SOM SS @ Bill Heard in Houston !

I did - to the tune of 2 miles !!

Beautiful car - has the SLP lid, Center mount exhaust, 10 spoke chrome wheels , and runs quite well !

Unfortuantely, they did not want to go below sticker , and since I was more looking than anything I elected not to push as hard as I could have.

I will say that the improvements made to the LS1 since the '01 model year seemed to have helped !!

Oh, it had 8.1 miles on her when I took it out.

Enjoy !!

Britt

My folks live in SL. I used to know the son of the GM at Bill Heard. Nice folks. Hes since gone and I wouldnt buy anything at BH! WHats the deal with the gate. Fing ***** give you the 10th degree and wonder what youre doing there... "duhhh IM looking for a car. Open the fing gate, Biotch!" Youre the first from Htown that Ive met or heard of that got their car there. THey dont budge on the price and they act as though what they got on the lot is god's gift to automobiles. Mike Hall was willing to wheel and deal, customer service was excellent, they kept me informed re the status of my SS order, and they got my money.

Dont go to Hill Beard.

Well, I didn't actually buy it , just test drove it !!

I know exactly what you mean about swarming you @ the gate !!

However ...

The trick is to have talked to someone prior - that way, every time one of them comes up to you tell them that you talked w/ (blank).

In any case, the guy I dealt w/ , Blair Nixon, was low keyed, straightforward, and honest, so I have no complaints w/ him.

I would love to have pushed him to see what $'s I could have gotten to, but wasn't that serious about buying one, so did not waste his time.

Now, if he had of come out of the gate @ 28K - well, I'd be in a S.O.M. machine right now !!

Mike Hall (now Champion) is a good dealer, but I have never bought anything there - just shopped Z's.

Friendly folks, though. Most of my contacts at Chevy dealers seem to be on the service side !!

I have been fortunate to have met a lot of nice service writers/mechanics.

What SS did you get from Hall ??
