i think i grenaded my tranny just now....
well i was on the way back to san antonio today and i shifted into 3rd on the highway and floored it, and shifted hard into 4th and the car just revved up real high, i thought i blew the clutch up because it did it in 3rd too when i slowed down. so when i came to a stop on the side of the road i put it in 1st and it drove ok, so i went to 2nd and it was fine too, as i went into 3rd and gave it just a bit of gas the car bucked real hard and a loud scraping sound like grinding metal came outa the tranny, it does it in 4th too, i cant get going enough to try 5th or 6th, but it shifts into every gear fine, i just cant accelerate in anything about 2nd gear. i think i broke the shift fork, but im not sure, anyone know wtf this could be? its going to be sitting at least a week or so before i get a chance to drive it to killeen for warranty work and was wondering if maybe im overlooking something simpler that would help me avoid the dealership.... any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks.
edit: more detail about the sound, it sounds like the car is being high centered and scraping on something....

Sorry dude. I'd post something important but I know NOTHING about manuals. All I know is that I hope mine never goes out! Hope you get some good help though from someone who does know.

PS - Sounds like you've had a little trouble with this car you got huh? Sucks man, hope everything works out for ya.

you might have trashed the shift fork, the stock 3-4 shift fork is pretty weak in the T56.
see if you can accelerate up to around 50 in second and shift to 5th. if 5th and 6th work, you can be pretty sure the problem is within the 3-4 gear set and that and it sounds like you may some residue from either the syncro assembly or shiftfork breakage in the gears. No matter what, you might as well rent a car for a week and pull that tranny. If you need help, I've done this before, so I could come over and lend a hand if you need it. hope you figure everything out.
