Angry New registration stickers

Has anyone seen these pieces of crap they are giving out for the stickers? It's paper with a big clear border around it that sticks it on to the window. No more plastic stickers, its now cheap *** looking crap!! Damn state and them trying to save money...

My mother in law just bought a CLS 55 and they put that on there...man, that's a $50 piece of paper! They keep getting cheaper and cheaper here!

Re: New registration stickers

I dont know what they are thinking on these new stickers, they suck. Texas needs to go to rear plate only with the little sticker on the license plate. The new sticker is bigger and just clutters up the windshield even more.

Lightbulb If you will remember ...

Texas USED TO have the sticker on the back plate, but they were getting ripped off by thieves, so they went to the in the window design.

Also note that these new ones have the plate number on them as well.

I did not mind the old ones so much in the window, but agree these are Gawd Awful ugly !

A rear plate only law won't do me any good on the SS , but might be nice on a newer car.

Re: New registration stickers

i'm guessing its to make it easier for cops to verify that the sticker goes with the vehicle. my friend swaps inspection and reg stickers back and forth between his 3 cars all the time. i'd much rather have it on the windshield than on the plate.

Re: New registration stickers

Had the same reaction. Just got my new sticker and when the girl handed it to me, I thought, like, WTF is this. Then I thought, anyone with a cheap scanner could knock these off no problem!!

Re: New registration stickers

I don't know about you guys but I'm keeping my old registration sticker on and keeping the new one in my glove compartment so if I get pulled over for it, I can be like well I just got it and havn't had time to put it on yet. I mean afterall the old sticker has 2005 on it and the month is just punched out so I'm sure I won't get pulled over for just the sticker because you can't tell its expired unless you look at it up close.

I agree the new sticker is the ugliest thing i've ever seen! When i saw a TA with one on there i laughed my *** off. I havent had to change mine yet but when i do, i'm gonna hate putting that piece of **** on my windshield.

Re: New registration stickers

I work at a carwash and have been seeing them over the past few months more and more. Most of the ones I've seen were Guadalupe county, though, not Comal (where I live and work), so I figured it was a county thing.

And yes, they're absolutely horrible. But photoshopping one won't be too difficult, then just add laminate.

haha that would probably not be smart, lets say you get pulled over 2 months from now, and they question the inspection, your just gonna say "welli just got it and havent been able to put it on ", even tho they can look at the sticker and see that the hole is punched for july or whatever? so ya that wont work...also, you'd be surprised howmany people get expired registration/inspection sticker tickets, my friend just got a warning today for expired registrations(my friend drove by a cop at a light, the cop reversed, and turned around after my friend), and a couple of my other friends have gotten tickets for them

by the way, i havent seen them yet, whats different about them?? im about to send off for my reg sticker in a coupl days, a little scared to get the new reg sticker now

They are just plain paper, with no glue on the decal it self, just around it on the backing.

They had that in California, what you would do is cut the sticker in to strips with a knife when they where on the car, that way no one would be able to steal them
