I missed all that good stuff. I had just completed my run when the announced the t-top blowing off. I was in the staging lanes when the guy did the second gear wheelie, and I missed that dude that was doing a **** poor job directing us to the burn-out boxes punch a dent in that guys car's fender. I heard the went nose to nose for a sec.
We stayed in the car while they were drawing names out. Congrats on the $600 gift certificate. I sure wanted to win the Chrome SS wheels though.
They were telling me since it was the first race of the season the track was not real fantastic. Though as the day went on and more rubber was laid down my 60 foot times started to come around a little. With all that wind blowing and as cold as it was outside I thought they did for the most part do their best. Crap at least I got to stay inside my car for a bit, those guys were out there in the cold all day.
Times seem off a little, but I hope for the LS1-LT1 Shoot-out here in San Antonio March 9th it will be a little more warmer out. And being on my home track I hope to lay down some impressive bolt-on numbers.
Fingers XX on a new job im inverviewing for. Down to 10 people out of the 48 that were invited to the work shop. They have 3 positions open, so I figured I have a good chance. If all goes well, I am going to stuff the MOST cubic inches I can under the hood. And retire my TA to strip use. Since my goal will be 10's But then again its all about your dreams.

SnakeatinZ- Now that is impressive running 13.2's with 104MPH Trap Speeds on almost nothing but LT's and cold Air. With a stock converter, gears, and tires I would say that has to be one of the quickest times I have ever heard of with just those mods.
Heck that trap speed is what I am running but just about .2-.3 seconds faster in the quarter. And I have a heck of alot more bolt-ons that you. Good Job!

This is snakeatinZ's big brother. I was totally stoked that he rans those times. His best ever with a CAI and cutout was a 13.6 with about 85K miles.
he then put on LG world challenge 17inch wheels and had his "stock convertor" replaced under warranty and drag radials. This resulted in 13.9s
So he sold the wheels, went back to stock salad shooters and street tires and had a brand new stock convertor. We put my headers on and running thru an open ypipe. His first run I called a 13.4 I'll be damned if he didn't run it. SO he was totally happy about that. He only had like a 2.2 60', so obviously there was room to improve. His next and last run, I told him to really launch good. As soon as he left the line we knew he got a great launch. Me and about five other friends were going crazy that he ran that 13.2 Most people were looking at us like WTF? but they didn't realize that was a fairly stock LT1 with CAI, Headers and 95K on the motor. anyways great day
And the guy spraying the water in the box was an AS$HOLE. He pounded on some guys third gen windshield, opened his pass. side door to yell at him, and completly SLAMMED his door in disjust. I would have beat his as$ for that.

That guy that was running the water box was a total ***, I do agree. It was his fault if people "started" there burn out early. He was paying no attention to what was going on. I saw him myself at least 3 times bang on peoples's car and open the door and yell at them. And that was just when I was behind them staging. I would have kicked his dumbass if he would have pulled that crap with me. I just ignored him and watched the guys runing the lights to signal me.
As for the 13.2 pass sounds like if he would get some Nitto 555R's and get his 60 foot times down around a 1.9 he would be running in the 12's. For a F-Body to have a complete stock LT1 car with only Hooker Long Tubes, a C.A.I. and a X-pipe that could make the 12's with a pair of drag radials that has to be darn near the fastest car with those mods I have ever seen or read about on any posts here. Great job to your brother! Let him know it took me about another $1500 to get where he is at.

Glad I wasnt the only one running off pace. I was 4 tenths off my best motor time, and 2 tenths off my spray pass.
Motor- 12.8@108 (also lost 3mph)
Spray- 11.4@118 (also lost 2mph)
And I got TOTALLY RIPPED in the burnout comp! That farkin trailer trash lookin 3rd gen should NOT have been in the final. I saw his show, and it wasnt ****.

I saw your burn out. That puppy was awsome. And yes you did a much better job than he did, but that guy that took his up to 4th gear, now that was bad ***!
BTW I do have your car on tape doing the burn-out if you dont have a copy.

I had a rather eventfull day....
Stayed up till 2:30am yesterday working on my car's valvetrain - because earlier in the day I went to dyno w/ my fresh set up and couldn't rev past 6k . So I spent most of the day chasing down shorter pushrods and couldn't ever find any. Ended up opting to try valve lash caps... Put those on, and then went to bed. Got up @ 5:30 to make the early AM GTG & cruise out to the track. On the way there, after letting the car warmed up - figured I'd stretch out my car's legs and run up to 6800rpms... Again, the car quit pulling @ 6k . Figured screw it, orked on the car all week - building the motor and putting it in - wasn't gonna let not being able to rev out to my peak power stop me from participating.
So in the time trials I decided to shift @ 5k, and see what kind of times I could muster. Expecting to run mid 13's - I was a little suprised to say the least when I ran a 12.89... Second time trial was also a 12.89... 4.11's and shifting @ 5k was pretty crummy.. I'd be in 5th gear by the times I hit the traps. But I was pretty consistent with it.
When all was said and done I ended up winning the event ~ running against another LT1. Where were you LS1 boys @ ?
See vid here - don't laugh too loud @ the short shifting . http://www.jenjen.net/slp/saladbar.wmv
Ahh... And the bad news of the day ... I made a booboo and put my rear 10 spoke SS wheels/tires and toolbox in the wrong tow vehicle. Ended up putting a major damper on my whole day.

SSlow
Remember two things before you read my results:
1) My car is SSlow.
2) It was my first drag race.
Results: 13.8 ET at 99MPH. 2.0 60'.
This was with a 3200Vig, Borla catback, relocation brackets, and Nitto DRs. Other than that, it's stock with 76K miles.
I only got to run once, and I had a really good time looking at a lot of awesome f-bodies. The 10- and 11-second cars were badass. I have a new respect for you guys. My favorite part of the day was driving up to Ennis with a group of San Antonio guys. Now THAT was cool. There sure seemed to be a shortage of LT-1 cars. LS-1 cars are starting to take over.

I had a pretty good time, other than it being cold!!! I am glad everyone else said that their MPH and Et were slower, because I thought something was wrong with my car....... I ran a best of 11.84 @ 116.66 in my 92 Vette with the Draglites. I never got a good hook on the track......
