RCR/San Antonio Raceway Friday 01/31

http://www.rivercityracewayinc.com/

Just trying to get some people together to go to the track. I haven't been in a while and I want to run my car with my new motor in. A group of us is meeting in South Austin @ 6-6:30 and caravanning down to the track. I would be great if there was just a ton of Fbodies out there!
FWIW Friday is not an import racing night unlike most Fridays. It's double points night so there should be some mean machines out there. Hope to see lots of you!

Cody

Post a reply if you plan on meeting up with us. We'll wait a bit if we have to.

Although I'm not from Austin, I should be there to check out the Big Dogs tonight...

Regarding last night:

The Big Dog Shootout was pretty sweet! Some seriously fast machines out there.

The track was in really poor condition--very slippery

Lots of Fbodys out there.

I only ran once due to severe traction limitations (street tires) and the state of the track. Here's my slip.

60ft 2.917
1/8 et 11.7488
1/8 mph 74.44
1/4 et 16.68
1/4 mph 102.52

First gear was useless. When I threw it into second, I went SIDEWAYS, and came within a foot of the outside wall. I actually had to hit the brakes during the run! I said to hell with it after that debacle. I think I might need ET Streets.

I ran street tires just to try the new motor out and I HOPED that the streets would hook somewhat. It didn't happen.

I've got polished, not ported, LT4 Heads and Intake with comp 987 valve springs and crane gold race 1.6 rr's.

The car hasn't been "professionally" tuned yet. I'm using a file called "keegan_warner_396.LT1" it's for a 396cid LT1, AFR 220cc Heads, 227/234/114LS cam, 1.6RRs, 3.73 gears, 30# SVO's, Long tube headers, 4" mufflex exhaust, 58mm TB.

I have been trying to find a file that is a bit closer to my setup, but finding one has not been easy. I have the FLASH program so I can upload files to the pcm, but don't have the actual tunercat edit program. Wish I knew someone who had it and wanted to help me tune this thing right
