Thumbs up Vernon, TX cruise & drag race this weekend!:thumb:

This is a big event. The cruise starts on Friday night and is open to newer cars. It's perfect for guys like me with a 1996 TA to have some fun. Saturday night is the bigger cruise for older cars only, but after 10:00pm it opens up for new cars to cruise again. The cruise will have something like 10,000 cars in it. I am talking bumper to bumper slow cruising with four lanes of traffic. Oh ya, a lots of hot girls. Saturday night is also the big drag race at Wichita Raceway Park in Wichita Falls. It's a nice little 1/8th mile track. A lot of people show up from the cruise. Last year the racing went until 4:00am, if that tells you anything about how many people show up. The drag strip makes more money in one night, than it does all year. I would like to see a lot of f bodys show up. There will be plenty of Mustangs to beat. You gotta come join the fun. Beating Mustangs is like shooting fish out of a barrel. I know gas is high, but you will have a great chance to show off your car.

Who's with me?

Mark

Oh ya, did I mention the hot girls?

You guys do like girls, right?

Hows it going Mark? Don't think I'll be bringing the camaro out there this year...I learned its better to race < 30 mins away from the house unless you have a trailer! Anyways, I'll be in Vernon all weekend so I'll be looking for you...

Last year I actually twisted my output shaft, broke my UMI trq arm, DS, Park Brake cable, all this on freakin Nittos!

I have been the last 4 years and I wouldn't miss this event for anything...

Cool

Man, I was hoping for a rematch after you beat me. I have added more stuff to my TA since last year. I should be in the 7's now. Did you get everything fixed? Bring your SS even if you don't race.

See ya there!

Yeah, everything has been fixed...Currently, my intake is off because I went to a 58mm TB so I pulled the intake and took it to Lloyd to work his magic. Been working 60+ hrs so I haven't put it back on yet

Anyways, I've done a few more things also Including a dyno tune

My buddy will be bringing his mustang (runs 7s) and I'll be in the tundra.

I'll hollor at you if I see you...

Who did your dyno tune for your LT1? I heard there is still a guy doing LT1s in Fort Worth, but I don't remember his name. I am interested in getting some work done.

I need A&S automotive's phone number, can you get it for me? I am currently OBD1, but I still have my original OBD2 computer. I switched over to OBD1 with pcmforless. Also, I don't have a crank sensor anymore when I put on the Cloyes double timing chain and the 95 timing chain cover.

I'm considering converting from my standard to an automatic. Drag racing last night sucked and was very frustrating. My best was an 8.24.

Scott's # 817-431-3150

I've thought about converting to the auto also but it's just too much fun driving a 6 speed.

I saw you a couple times on the strip in vernon but I wasn't able to catch up with you...Billy said he talked to you for a little while I was hanging out at the shop..

Was there alot of people at the track?

There was not as many people as last year, but there were still a lot. I stayed till almost 3am and had a blast. I think my times were slower because my clutch has seen better days. It really starts to slip at the top end.
