16" wheels vs 17" SS wheels

16" wheels vs 17" SS wheels

Ok im getting tires for the 17" SS wheels that i have not installed yet, my question is am i gonna feel the difference in handling ? my stock tires now are 245/50/16 H rated ties and the new ones will have 275/40/17.. Thanks

In short yes. Are you going with the same brand and make of tires for the 17's?

No im not, i have really cheap tires now, ill be getting something like Firestones or Coopers, also looked at Toyos, it really all depends on price and avalabilty in my area...

The additional rubber is going to make a big difference in traction, and overall handling. You may notice an increase in "tramlining" - the tendancy of very wide tires to wander as they ride up and down the grooves that the 18-wheelers wear into asphalt pavement.
