Is there an offset of wheel hub sizes on my 97 camaro

I have a 97 z28 30th anniversary Camaro with white factory rims and I recently tried to rotate my tires and it seemed that the front wheels would not fit over the hub on the rear. Is there an offset of teh hub size from the front and back wheel hubs? What should I do?

Lightly sand or grind the inner diameter of the holes in the wheels so they will fit over the rear hubs with no interference.

This is a common problem from 1993-1996, but this is the first time I have heard of it being a problem on a 1997. Yes, in the 93-96 cars the rear hub is slightly larger in diameter than the front hub. But the wheels are made (at least 94-96) with larger holes so they will fit in either position. The problem was supplosedly fixed in late 96 or early 97. The rear hubs were made smaller to match the front hubs, and the holes in the back of the wheels were made smaller.

The only people I have heard of having a problem are people buying a set of 97+ wheels and trying to put them on a 93-96 car. In that case, you have to sand or grind the inner diameter of the holes in the wheels so they will fit over the rear hubs.

Is it possible the rear axle assembly in your car was replaced at some point in its life with one from a 93-96 car? That's about the only thing that would explain why your 97 has the problem. Did you check the backs of the rear wheels to see if there was any evidence of them being sanded down?

Will putting a wheel with a little bit large lip on the front of the car affect anything, such as the wheel not being as tight as it should or affecting the ride.

What do you mean by "a little bit large lip"? Do you mean a wheel with an oversize hub hole? If so, no problem. The 4th Gen wheels are "centered" by the conical lugs, not the hubs.
