Re: Wheel suggestions

You need to move up to 17's to find decent tires and wheels. There's not much available any more in the 16" sizes. Popular setup with 17's would be a set of 17 x 9.5" wheels on all 4 corners with 275/40-17 tires. Or, the 17 x 9.5's in the front, with 17 x 11.0 in the back, with 315/35-17 tires.

But if you already bought the 245/50-16's you're sort of stuck with the factory wheels. Look at the 16x8.0" wheels used on the newer years of the Z28 and the Formula/TransAm to see if there are any you like. One caution. Using 97 or newer wheels on your 94 will require that you lightly sand or grind the inside diameter of the wheel hub holes. The hub diameter on the 97 and newer 4th Gens was reduced, along with the hole in the wheels, and the hole is too smll for the 93-96 4th Gen axles,

Then there's a lot of options in 18" wheel/tires, with many of the Corvette C4/C5/C6 wheels being popular, in 9.0 50 10.5" widths.

Have you looked through the "sticky" posts at the top of the "Wheels and Tires" topic page, showing wheels for 4th Gens, and an FAQ regarding wheel and tire sizes?

Re: Wheel suggestions

Yea move up to 17". I am finding it harder each year to find 16" tires that actually perform well with my added HP.

Also here is a performance chart of your tires. Pretty cool feature to find just the right tires. Just click on "survey" to see it.
